Old Testament
Mesha
A name shared by a descendant of Joktan, a Benjamite leader, and a rebellious king of Moab.
The name Mesha appears in three distinct contexts in Scripture. In Genesis 10:30, it refers to a geographical boundary for the descendants of Joktan. In 1 Chronicles 8:9, it identifies a son of Shaharaim, a leader among the tribe of Benjamin. Finally, 2 Kings 3:4 describes Mesha as a king of Moab who paid tribute to Israel before rebelling against Jehoram.
