Obed
The son of Boaz and Ruth, who became the grandfather of King David and an ancestor of Jesus Christ.
Obed was born to Boaz and Ruth in Bethlehem, serving as a bridge between the Moabite lineage of Ruth and the royal line of David. His birth brought restoration to Naomi and secured the family line within the covenant community of Israel. As the father of Jesse, he occupies a vital place in the genealogy of the Messiah recorded in both the Old and New Testaments.
