Old Testament
Rezon
An adversary of Solomon who became king of Damascus and a thorn in the side of Israel.
Rezon was the son of Eliada who fled from his master, Hadadezer king of Zobah. He gathered a band of men and seized control of Damascus, establishing a kingdom that opposed Solomon throughout his reign. His rise serves as a historical marker of the divine judgment brought upon Solomon for turning away from the Lord.
