Old Testament
Samlah
Samlah was a king of Edom who succeeded Hadad and reigned from the city of Masrekah.
Samlah is listed in the genealogical records of Genesis 36 and 1 Chronicles 1 as one of the early kings who ruled in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites. He succeeded Hadad and was followed by Saul of Rehoboth. His inclusion serves to document the historical succession of Edomite leadership alongside the lineage of Esau.
