Old Testament
Uzzah
An Israelite who died after touching the Ark of the Covenant during its transport to Jerusalem.
Uzzah was the son of Abinadab who helped transport the Ark of the Covenant on a new cart. When the oxen stumbled, he reached out to steady the Ark and was struck dead by God for his irreverence. His death serves as a solemn reminder of the necessity of following God's prescribed instructions for handling holy objects.
