Ahaz
A wicked king of Judah who abandoned the covenant and sought help from Assyria instead of trusting in the Lord.
Ahaz was the son of Jotham and a king of Judah noted for his idolatry, which included sacrificing his own son to pagan gods. During the Syro-Ephraimite War, he ignored Isaiah's counsel to trust God, choosing instead to form a disastrous alliance with Assyria. His reign serves as a stark biblical example of faithlessness and the spiritual decline of the Davidic line.
