Amaziah
The ninth king of Judah who defeated Edom but suffered defeat against Israel's King Jehoash.
Amaziah was the son of Joash and reigned over Judah for twenty-nine years. While he initially followed the Lord, he later turned to idolatry after conquering the Edomites. His pride led him to challenge Jehoash of Israel to war, resulting in his defeat and the plundering of Jerusalem. Note that this king is distinct from the idolatrous priest of Bethel mentioned in the book of Amos.
