Asa
The third king of Judah who initiated religious reforms and sought the Lord during his early reign.
Asa was a king of Judah who reigned for forty-one years, noted for removing idols and restoring the altar of the Lord. While he began his rule with faithful reliance on God, his later years were marked by a lack of trust, specifically in his alliance with Syria and his harsh treatment of the prophet Hanani. He remains a significant figure in the Davidic line, appearing in the genealogy of Jesus Christ recorded in the Gospel of Matthew.
