Old Testament
Carmi
Carmi was a son of Reuben and the progenitor of the Carmite clan within the tribe of Reuben.
Carmi is identified in the genealogies of Genesis, Exodus, and Numbers as the fourth son of Reuben, Jacob's firstborn. He is the ancestor of the Carmite clan, which formed a significant part of the Reubenite tribe during the wilderness wanderings. While the name also appears in the lineage of Judah in 1 Chronicles 4:1, the Reubenite Carmi remains the primary figure associated with the early history of Israel's tribes.
