Hazael
An official of Damascus who became king and fulfilled Elisha's prophecy of judgment against Israel.
Hazael was a high-ranking official under Ben-Hadad II whom Elisha anointed as king of Aram. He seized the throne by murdering his predecessor and subsequently oppressed Israel during the reigns of Jehu and Jehoahaz. His rise serves as a divine instrument of judgment against the northern kingdom for their persistent idolatry.
