Joab
The ruthless and capable commander of King David's army who served as his loyal but often disobedient general.
Joab was the son of Zeruiah and David's nephew, serving as the commander of the Israelite army throughout most of David's reign. He was a skilled military strategist who secured many victories but frequently acted against David's wishes, notably in the murders of Abner and Amasa. His life illustrates the tension between political loyalty and personal ambition, ultimately leading to his execution by Solomon's order.
