Old Testament
Matri
A descendant of Benjamin whose family line was selected by lot during the choosing of King Saul.
Matri is mentioned only once in the biblical record as an ancestor of King Saul. During the public selection of Israel's first king at Mizpah, the tribe of Benjamin was chosen, followed by the family of Matri, which led to the identification of Saul. His significance is limited to his role in the genealogical lineage that established Saul's royal authority.
