Old Testament
Hophni
A corrupt priest and son of Eli who died in battle after the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant.
Hophni served as a priest at Shiloh alongside his brother Phinehas. Scripture identifies them as worthless men who disregarded the Lord's regulations for sacrifices and exploited the people. Their wickedness and Eli's failure to restrain them led to divine judgment, resulting in their deaths and the loss of the Ark of the Covenant.
