Old Testament
Nimshi
The father of Jehoshaphat and grandfather of Jehu, the king who purged the house of Ahab.
Nimshi is identified in the historical accounts of 1 and 2 Kings as the father of Jehoshaphat and the grandfather of Jehu. He is primarily mentioned to establish the lineage of Jehu, who was anointed by Elisha to execute judgment upon the house of Ahab. While Nimshi himself is not a central actor in the narrative, his name serves as a genealogical marker for the dynasty that replaced the Omride line in Israel.
