Old Testament
Rimmon
A Syrian deity worshipped in Damascus, notably associated with the temple where Naaman served.
Rimmon was a primary storm god of the Arameans, often identified with Hadad. He is mentioned in 2 Kings 5:18 as the deity in whose temple Naaman, the commander of the Syrian army, bowed down. The name also appears as a geographical reference in Judges and 2 Samuel, identifying a rock or location near the tribe of Benjamin.
