Eleazar

The son of Aaron who succeeded his father as High Priest and oversaw the distribution of the Promised Land.

Eleazar was the third son of Aaron and served as the second High Priest of Israel, playing a critical role in the wilderness tabernacle service. He succeeded his father after the incident at Mount Hor and later assisted Joshua in the division of Canaan among the tribes. While several other men in the Old Testament and the genealogy of Jesus bear this name, the son of Aaron is the most prominent figure.
