Heth
Heth was the second son of Canaan and the eponymous ancestor of the Hittite people.
As the progenitor of the Hittites, Heth represents a significant Canaanite lineage mentioned throughout the Old Testament. His descendants, often referred to as the children of Heth, occupied the land of Canaan and interacted frequently with the patriarchs, most notably in Abraham's purchase of the cave of Machpelah. The biblical record uses his name to identify a major ethnic group that played a recurring role in the history and geopolitical landscape of the ancient Near East.
