Phinehas
A zealous priest and grandson of Aaron known for his decisive action to stop a plague in Israel.
Phinehas was the son of Eleazar and a high priest who demonstrated intense devotion to the holiness of God. He is most noted for executing judgment upon an Israelite man and a Midianite woman, an act that halted a divine plague and secured a covenant of perpetual priesthood for his line. His legacy of zeal for the Lord is recorded in Numbers 25 and later celebrated in Psalm 106.
