Old Testament
Hanamel
The cousin of Jeremiah who sold him a field in Anathoth as a sign of Israel's future restoration.
Hanamel was the son of Shallum and a cousin to the prophet Jeremiah. During the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem, he approached Jeremiah to sell him family land in Anathoth. This transaction served as a prophetic sign from God, demonstrating that houses, fields, and vineyards would once again be bought in the land of Judah after the coming exile.
