Old Testament
Malchiah
A royal official under King Zedekiah who opposed Jeremiah's message of surrender to Babylon.
Malchiah, son of Pashhur, served as a high-ranking official in the court of King Zedekiah. He is noted for his role in demanding Jeremiah's execution, accusing the prophet of demoralizing the army and the people. Along with other officials, he was responsible for casting Jeremiah into a cistern to die, illustrating the intense political hostility faced by the prophet during the siege of Jerusalem.
