Old Testament
Mahlah
One of the five daughters of Zelophehad who successfully petitioned Moses for the right to inherit land.
Mahlah was a daughter of Zelophehad from the tribe of Manasseh. She and her sisters secured a landmark legal precedent in Numbers 27, allowing women to inherit property when no sons were present. This decision preserved their father's name and established a significant principle for inheritance law in Israel.
