Old Testament
Shemida
A son of Gilead and a descendant of Manasseh, Shemida was the progenitor of the Shemidaites clan.
Shemida was a grandson of Manasseh through his father Gilead. He is primarily identified in the genealogical records of the tribe of Manasseh as the founder of the Shemidaite clan, which received an inheritance in the land of Canaan. His lineage is documented in the census taken in the wilderness and later in the genealogical lists of 1 Chronicles.
