Jabesh
The conspirator who assassinated King Zechariah of Israel and usurped the throne for one month.
Jabesh was the son of Shallum who conspired against King Zechariah, the final ruler of the Jehu dynasty. He murdered the king in Ibleam and seized the throne of Israel, reigning for only one month before being killed by Menahem. His brief, violent tenure highlights the political instability and divine judgment characterizing the final years of the Northern Kingdom.
