Jesse
The father of King David and a key ancestor in the messianic line of Jesus Christ.
Jesse was a resident of Bethlehem and the son of Obed, serving as the patriarch of the royal house of David. He is significant for his role in the Davidic covenant, as God chose his youngest son, David, to be the king of Israel. His lineage is explicitly traced in the New Testament as the ancestral root of the Messiah, Jesus.
