Abraham
The patriarch chosen by God to become the father of a great nation through whom all families are blessed.
Abraham, originally Abram, is the foundational patriarch of the covenant people of Israel. Called by God to leave his homeland, he is defined by his faith in God's promises despite his advanced age and barrenness. His life centers on the covenant of circumcision and the ultimate test of his obedience in the offering of his son Isaac.
