Joseph
The son of Jacob who rose to power in Egypt, preserving his family and the covenant line during a great famine.
Joseph, the eleventh son of Jacob, was sold into slavery by his brothers but rose to become the vizier of Egypt through God-given wisdom. His life demonstrates divine providence, as he preserved the house of Israel during a severe famine. While other figures in Scripture bear this name, the son of Jacob is the primary figure whose narrative bridges the patriarchal era and the Exodus.
