Old Testament

Moab

The son of Lot and the ancestor of the Moabite nation, which frequently interacted with Israel.

Moab was the son of Lot born through his eldest daughter, becoming the progenitor of the Moabite people. The nation of Moab maintained a complex, often adversarial relationship with Israel throughout the Old Testament, though they shared a common ancestry. Their history is marked by territorial conflicts, the story of Ruth the Moabitess, and various prophetic judgments recorded in the books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Zephaniah.
